New Space’s owner, Joanna Ozga, was professionally trained at Warsaw Polytechnic University, from which she gained both B.A. and M.A. degrees in architecture. In addition, she holds an M.A. degree in Interior design from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
Before opening New Space, Ozga worked for multiple architectural firms around the globe; In Warsaw, Poland, Berlin, Germany, Springfield, Missouri, and in Chicago, Illinois. Challenged by projects large and small, she designed modern housing complexes, educational facilities, commercial shops, and eating establishments. Notably, she was one of the principle architects of a significant interior design commission for an entire upper floor of the Sears Tower in Chicago. After working commercially as an architect and interior designer both in the U.S. and abroad for over 20 years, Ms. Ozga developed New Space Architects in 1990. Today, she works with a team of architects to meet the needs of a wide variety of clients.
Based in Wilmette, IL, New Space Architects Ltd., is an architecture and design management firm that operates in and around Chicagoland. With registered architects in both Illinois and Wisconsin, New Space has a wide coverage area, enabling it serve clients in the entire metro area. The Firm specializes in the remodeling and construction of new high-end single-family residences and its architects have successfully designed over 100 Chicago area homes to date.
